Whole School Spellings

The National Curriculum expects that children learn a set of spelling words every year. This listen is often called ‘common exception words’. Children will need to practise these spellings regularly.

We know that some children can better retrieve facts from their memory when they have learnt a new word alongside a picture or a rhyme to help them remember the letter order of the word.
