Virtual Open Day

Welcome to New Horizons Primary School's Virtual Open Day

Welcome to New Horizons Primary School. Together we will make a difference; supporting, encouraging and inspiring everyone to be:

  • Successful Learners
  • Responsible Citizens
  • Happy and Confident Individuals

We work hard to make our school a happy and engaging environment for the children in our care; a place where we grow, play and learn safely together. We set high expectations in everything we do and strongly believe in the importance of the core skills of reading, writing, mathematics and communication

We believe that primary school education is an experience that all children should enjoy to the full. We therefore offer a broad and balanced curriculum. The multi-cultural dimension of our school community is another strength; we celebrate our many diverse backgrounds, helping our children to become positive and responsible citizens.

Thinking School

At New Horizons Primary we believe passionately in providing our students with the best foundations on which to build their academic and personal success. As part of this, we utilise a cognitive approach to education through Thinking Skills and Tools.

“To become a thinking school requires (shared) vision, skillful in-service training and a great deal of hard work. In one sense, the process is never-ending, but we do believe that schools demonstrating that they can match a certain number of basic criteria can rightfully claim to be a thinking school.” – Professor Bob Burden, of Exeter University.

Making a Difference together

Together we will make a difference; supporting, encouraging and inspiring everyone to be: successful learners, responsible citizens and happy, confident individuals. Our school logo of a starfish is to remind everyone that each day they should strive to make a positive difference.
